Life Through Photos and 360 Views
Karl Lagerfeld said " What I like about photographs is is they capture a moment that's gone forever, impossible to reproduce. He was so right! I love taking photos, and it's rare that I'm not taking one on a daily basis. Enjoy a photo gallery of a few people in my life and some of my adventures through academia and travels. Below you will also see some of my Google
Streetview photos where I have over 3 million views on my photos. I'm almost a level 4 guide according to Google's contributor levels.
Google Streetview
I love 360 videography and photography, and I share my content through the use of Google Streetview. I have contributed over 83 photos on one account which has over 780K+ public views, and another account where I have contributed 41 photos and have almost 2.97M+ views. It may not seem trivial to some, but it's content creation using a mobile app wherever I go.
The 360 photo to the right has over 939K+ hits from when I was standing inside the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on the field by the SEC Nation Set.
The 360 photo below it is from the top of Fort Sumter where I stood in 30 below weather to get that shot. It now has over 693K+ views.
Interactive 360 Thinglink Tours
I fell in love with using Thinglink as a storytelling tool at an Excellence in Journalism Conference in New Orleans in 2016. Thinglink is an interactive cloud software program where you can take people on tours using your smartphone, Google Streetview or 360 VR cameras, and incorporate videos, photos, and graphics with information. I love using this tool to teach students how to break out the different facts and elements of a story as well as provide additional content for a digital web story.
The first 360 Thinglink tour is of a hiking trip my husband I took to Lake Harris in Tuscaloosa County. The 360 background photo is compressed.
The second 360 Thinglink was taken with an Insta360 camera at Legion Field in preparation for The World Games. If you click on the photo or the button it will animate in full 360 view.
